Perton is a popular, self-contained modern community situated in South Staffordshire about 4 miles from Wolverhampton. The area has extensive woodland and meadowland as well as managed grassland. There are several small natural ponds and the Upper and Lower lakes which are home to a range of common wildfowl. The tiny River Penk runs through the village. Public rights-of-way criss-cross the area to allow access to this wide range of habitats.
